After creating May’s Bloom, and selling the prototype, I was approached by a client that wanted a similar piece. I immediately jumped at the chance, because the previous painting was so much fun to do! This client asked if I would use colors specific to her décor, and sent me paint chips to use as color reference. We chatted about sizing, and decided on a 20” round. After a few composition and color studies were approved, I picked up my brush! This one felt relatively easy to begin, since I had done such a similar painting before, but I found myself leaning towards a cooler, darker color palette than the client preferred. Making corrections, layering oils, and re-defining petals along the way, we arrived at the finished piece, and were both happy with the final product.
I would absolutely love to do more of these floral rounds. If you’re interested, please fill out the form on the purchase page!
